Your logo is a trust signal, not just decoration

Customers form an impression of your business within seconds, often before reading a single word of copy. A weak or dated logo can undercut that first impression before you even get a chance to make your case.

1. Too much detail

Intricate logos break down at small sizes - a favicon, a social media avatar, a small print on a business card. If your logo only works large, it does not really work.

2. Following trends too closely

Trendy gradients and effects date quickly. The logos that last are built on strong, simple shapes rather than whatever style is popular this year.

3. Too many colors

Most strong logos work with one or two colors plus a neutral. More colors usually means less memorable, not more.

4. Ignoring how it looks in black and white

Your logo will end up on invoices, stamps, and single-color print materials. If it falls apart without color, that is a real limitation.

5. Copying a competitor's style

A logo that looks similar to a competitor's does not help you stand out - it does the opposite.

The fix is usually simplification

Almost every logo problem we are asked to fix gets solved by simplifying, not by adding more. Strip it back to the simplest version that still feels unmistakably yours.
